To the website of Kappa Delta, Omege Chi Chapter at Cornell University
It all started because of a very special gift in the Spring of 2006 from the undergraduate sisters of Omega Chi, who worked with the House Corporation and architects on a design for a renovation project that would return the front door of the KD house to its original location facing Triphammer Road with a more welcoming presence. The renovation project is complete and included some much needed exterior maintanence, an entire new appearance to the KD house, a light and bright entryway, and ADA accessibility into the house and first floor half bath.
Our goal is to raise $400,000 to cover the cost of this renovation project. We have reached almost 40% of our goal! Cornell Class and Reunion credit will be given for gifts, or inquire about tax-deductible giving options, by contacting a Campaign Co-Chair:

After a very successful spring 2012 formal recruitment period, the sisters of our chapter are incredibly excited to extend bids to 52 new members. The following photos show our sisters during the first round of recruitment and our new members on bid night.

Fall 2011
Kappa Delta’s fall semester was incredibly rewarding on numerous levels. The school year began with 43 of our sorority’s newest sisters moving into the renovated house at 109 Triphammer Road. On September 18, 2011 the chapter came together with community members, administrators and alumni in order to celebrate the Grand Reopening of our home. Throughout the semester we’ve been continually welcomed in by our newly-lit stained glass letters and enjoyed brunches, meetings, and time together on our renovated porch.

Led by our council, we’ve used this semester to find new ways to meet our philanthropic goals and make differences in the Cornell community. Among several philanthropy events we partnered with fraternities to hold an annual Haunted House philanthropy on Halloween and a Root-Beer Pong Tournament later in the semester, both of which were highly successful. On a Friday in November our chapter gathered to pass out balloons for Kappa Delta’s national Confidence Coalition "You Make Me Smile" Campaign. We distributed balloons with inspiring messages to students at multiple locations on campus (sisters pictured at right at our Arts Quad location), and due to positive feedback we’re already planning to repeat the event in the future.
Other highlights of the semester include (but are definitely not limited to) our Homecoming tailgate, a chapter-wide salsa lesson led by one of our alumna, a Panhellenic tea held in our newly renovated chapter house, our date night and our formal, an opportunity to act as chaperones for an elementary-school Halloween dance, sisterhood trips to Syracuse, group outings to the concerts and shows of our sisters, Big Appreciation Day, electing our newest council, our many, many nights out together, and hundreds of other experiences we’ve shared as sisters. Once again, we’ve had an incredible semester together. We can’t wait to come back to Cornell for Spirit Week bonding, Formal Recruitment, and of course, to meet the future members of our 2012 New Member Class!

The spring semester has been in full swing for Kappa Delta. Two weeks ago, 51 girls were initiated into the new pledge class of 2011. Each one of these girls is unique and offers Kappa Delta something different. Their new member period included a retreat at the house and numerous sisterhood events to get to know each other and the Chapter.
As a sorority, Kappa Delta has participated in philanthropy events, attended guest speakers, and gathered for sisterhood nights. The Crush Event cleverly fell on Saint Patrick's Day. As the sisters flaunted their emeralds and shamrocks, they danced the night away. It was another successful night for the spring semester.
The semester may be winding down, but Kappa Delta has more planned. A beach volleyball charity event, Girl Scout activities, Relay for Life, and a stunning formal are only some of the events lingering on the sisters' minds.
As the weather gets nicer, all of the girls are anticipating the beginning of the construction to the new front entrance! Surveyors, architects, and interior designers are eagerly working on starting the project at the beginning of the summer. We want to thank everyone who has contributed and we cannot wait to see how your contributions make Kappa Delta even better!

The 3rd annual Shamrock Showdown of Pop Culture ROCKED! The enrollment of 39 teams completely surpassed our goal of 25 teams. The crowd had fun answering questions about throwback television shows, current movies, sports events, and many more trivia fields. At $5 per person, 4 people per team, and 39 teams, the Kappa Delta Showdown fundraised a great amount of money to prevent Child Abuse in America. The top 3 teams walked away with gift baskets filled with donated gift cards from local restaurants and stores. It was a successful night for Kappa Delta's philanthropy efforts! Start studying for next year . . .

"Chemistry, Math, and Econ too . . .but when it comes to the real world, do you have a clue?" Next week Kappa Delta will be hosting its annual philanthropy event - SHAMROCK SHOWDOWN OF POP CULTURE. Teams will compete against each other in subjects varying from sports to presidents to celebrities. Baskets were sent to all of the sororities and fraternities inviting them to come out and prevent Child Abuse in America. Come out and flaunt your so-called "useless" knowledge to win prizes and have a good time!

Meet the new residents of 109 Triphammer Road! The rising Kappa Delta pledge class is eager to move into the house, but they were sad to see the freshman year come to a quick close. This semester the new pledge class enjoyed an overnight sleepover at a local lodge, the Kappa Delta formal, Derby Days, and numerous other activities. Get to know the new faces of 109 Triphammer.

A honorable mention goes out to the Kappa Delta Omega Chi Chapter who won first place in the philanthropy event "Derby Days." Derby Days is a week long event hosted by Sigma Chi. Events included a skit event, a dessert bake-off, a choreographed dance, a kickball tournament, and a scavenger hunt. Additional points were awarded for attendance. The first place sorority was awarded money to be donated to their charity of choice. Kappa Delta rallied together for the week. Participation and spirit from the seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen resulted in a fun week of bonding AND philanthropy donations.

Where has the semester gone? Since bid night the new members have experinced an amazing new member period of sisterhood events, socials, Big/Little week and reveal, Crush party (Alice in Wonderland theme), intramurals, and philanthropy events. On March 14, all 58 new members were initiated into the Omega Chi Chapter of Kappa Delta. Then Spring Break came along and Kappa Delta sisters traveled together across the country, on service trips to Nicaragua, and on leisure trips abroad. Below are Kappa Delta sisters in Camden Market in London during Spring Break visiting abroad sisters Liv Harder and Nathalie Berman.
